Scottish Event

Club Events in Scotland 2011-2012, June 14th 2012

Show Racism the Red Card delivered 20 high profile anti-racism / anti-sectarianism educational events at Scottish Premier League (SPL) and Scottish Football League (SFL) clubs across Scotland during season 2011-2012.

More about this event...

This season, 1,480 young people across Scotland were educated about the causes and consequences of racism and sectarianism. They were empowered to become active citizens, safely challenging racism and sectarianism in the communities in which they live.

Season 2011-2012 saw the campaign hold its very first high profile anti-racism / anti-sectarianism educational event with young people at Hampden Park, Scotlands National Stadium, with the Scotland Manager in attendance. To mark the occasion Hall of Fame awards were presented to supporters whose continued commitment to tackling racism and sectarianism over the years has been invaluable.

Awards were presented to the current Scotland Manager Craig Levein, and former Hibernian FC player Michael Weir – both received ‘Hall of Fame’ Awards in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the campaign.
