Bala Town FC Club Event, April 3rd 2012

We held our last event of the season at Maes Tegid with Bala Town FC.

More about this event...

Young people from Gwefan Ysgol Beuno Sant and Ysgol Bro Tegid attended the ground for the day that was full of activities and fun.

The morning session saw the young people participate in an educational workshop delivered by Education Worker Chris Stoakes. The pupils explored racism and its consequences and how it is important to get to know someone and not to judge them on how they look.

School teacher Owain Williams shared his thoughts on the event and said “Chris was brilliant and the activities were very interactive, the pupils were really engaged, not only the pupils but also the teachers have been educated on the topic. Judging by the posters the kids have designed they all learnt the key messages and have really enjoyed the day.

After the workshop there was a t-shirt design session where the pupils had to use their creative mind along with the key messages they had learnt in the morning session to design a anti racism t-shirt.

The winning design and a runner up won some Bala Town FC merchandise and SRtRC goodie bags.

Ruth from Bala Town FC said “It is very important to bring awareness to the children and to build a better relationship with the school and the local community; this event allows us to do that.”

We would like to thank the schools and the club for making the event a successful occasion.

We will continue to work with the club over the coming months.
