Welsh Event

Wrexham AFC, February 7th 2011

Our Welsh Campaign held their 4th ever event at the Racecourse ground with Wrexham AFC sponsored by the FAW.

More about this event...

The club have been fantastic in their support for SRtRC in North Wales who also support us in our Schools Competition with winners in their area and we are working together to build on our working relationship.

Around 150 pupils attended the event from Bwlchgwyn CP, Hafod y Wern Community Primary School, Brynteg Primary School and Ysgol Bodhyfryd County Primary School.

Pupils took part in anti racism activities delivered by Education Co-ordinator Simon Richards and Education worker Christian Roberts.

The young people had a stadium tour during their lunch break and heard stories from a club representative about the history of the club.

The main event saw Wrexham AFC first team players Marvin Andrews, Mark Creighton, Adrian Cieslewicz and Joslain Mayebi take part in a question and Answer session who also signed Wrexham AFC SRtRC posters for all the young people.

Each pupil was given match tickets for a Wrexham AFC game at the Racecourse and the best asked question won a SRtRC goodie bag.

The event was a big success with good feedback from all pupils and teachers who enjoyed the activities of the day.

SRtRC will continue to work with the club over the coming seasons and will host another event next season.

We would like to thank the club and their community department in particular James Hunter and Lee Jones for their support.
